Sustainability – a spiritual question

How can humanity as a whole have a permanent and sustainable relationship with creation?

(N.B. we do not appear to have one at this moment in view of the way we are depleting the resources on which we currently rely as a species and are facing a major and damaging change in climate probably as a result of our activities)
