Chirk & the Ceiriog Valley

Chirk Castle (see map) has a commanding view across the Cheshire gap, whilst behind it (to the west) the valley of the River Ceiriog (which translates into English as 'graceful') winds up into the Berwyn hills to the village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog. This area shows the beauty of the Welsh/English border 'marches', as they are known, at its best. Below is a selection of pictures that give some hint of what is to be seen on even a short visit.
